They include GLaDOS as a potato, Octane as a headcrab victim, and a twee Wattson with companion cube. Steam players will get three free gun charm cosmetics, based on Valve’s Portal and Half-Life series. Today’s announcement said those who have been playing on Origin now “can easily switch back and forth with Steam,” meaning progression and item unlocks are shared by both platforms. The official launch date is the same day Apex Legends’ Season 7 begins. Respawn Entertainment’s popular free-to-play shooter is the latest big Electronic Arts title to be available at Steam, as the publisher’s détente with the PC marketplace continues its thaw.
